Datenbanklinks zu NGC 252

NGC 252 ist eine linsenförmige Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ S0/a im Sternbild Andromeda am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 227 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 90.000 Lichtjahren.

Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich die Galaxien NGC 258, NGC 260, IC 1584.

Die Typ-IaP-Supernova SN 1998de wurde hier beobachtet.cite-ref-5[5]

Das Objekt wurde am 26. Oktober 1786 von dem deutsch-britischen Astronomen Wilhelm Herschel entdeckt.cite-ref-6[6]
